Established by Dr. A. M. Gökeri, Dr. A. I. Gökeri, Deniz Gökeri and Ateş Gökeri in May 1993, ASTEK is in fact continuation of now inactive NAMAT Ltd., which was formed in 1974 and successfully operated till 1993. The main field of activity of ASTEK is aerospace consulting and representation. The activities of the company are mainly directed towards technical marketing of fixed and rotary wing aircraft and related subsystems. ASTEK is particularly experienced in designing industrial and upgrade/retrofit programs that require the participation of more than one foreign manufacturer. |

For
example in 1994, in response to an RFP issued by the Turkish Ministry
of National Defense, ASTEK successfully supported
IAI/TAMAM in the sale and installation of Night Targeting System
(NTS) on AH-1P helicopters of the Turkish Land Forces (TLF). During
the same year ASTEK proposed a retrofit program
for installing GPS based Tactical Navigation System (TNS) on the
same TLF AH-1P helicopters. Using offset credits for financing,
ASTEK brought Canadian Marconi Company (now CMC
Electronics) and IAI/TAMAM together to equip the TLF AH-1P with
NTS. |

Another expertise of ASTEK relates to design of technical offset projects for manufacturers who have offset obligations in Turkey. Major program currently pursued by ASTEK are; 1.
